With a vulnerable and introspective approach to songwriting and performance, the bare, confessional music of Stephen Jay Clement is laden with the deeply personal color of a small-town singer-songwriter.
Stephen’s sharp, stirring lyrics poetically articulate the intolerable love, debilitating grief, and existential longing of the holistic human experience. Their 2023 EP, Noise, is a cathartic dissemination of regret and forgiveness; a love letter to the bittersweet memory of youth. Soon to follow is their 2024 album, Alive—a dissenting embrace of impermanence and awakening in an age of isolation and conditional morality.
Stephen’s award-winning work as a composer, lyricist, and performing artist continues to evolve alongside them, guiding them through humbling days and devilish nights towards nothing less than a pot of red lentil dal and a loaf of whole-grain huckleberry rye in a weathered cottage by the sea.

COMING THIS SUMMER:
"Noise is a 5-song EP about the first 20 years of my life, and some of the people I passed along the way. It's a cathartic dissemination of regret and forgiveness; a love letter to the bittersweet memory of youth."
Noise will be released in Summer 2023, replacing its original demo album.
